Leadership in Blockchain Technology

Panelist, Exclusive Interviews, Blockchain Education Alliance

As I joined AB InBev as Global Manager for Innovation at the Beer Garage office in Mountain View California, I quickly realized that the opportunities to grow the company's knowledge in terms of emerging tech were numerous. As I previously cultivated my understanding of the blockchain technology, in particular the Proof of Work blockchains and cryptocurrency technologies, and with my degrees in Industrial and Supply Chain Engineering, I immediately saw the potential of creating a concrete space for the education and later use of this technology to generate value in the company.

Leadership in Blockchain Technology: Articles

Public Speaking

As Innovation Manager, a lot of my work was exploration and networking with other tech companies and centers in the Silicon Valley. It became clear to a number of stakeholders that I was ready to speak publicly as an Innovation official at AB InBev, to represent the company and display the disruptive mindset tha tthe company should have.
In addition to a Tech Talk and a Blockchain Training to the FinTech team, I spoke at three different Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Education events throughout 2020 - once as a panelist and twice as an exclusive interviewee.

Industry Panel @ ReImagine2020 V1.0

Together with thought leaders like Paul Brody, Andrei Semenov, I shared thoughts about Open Blockchain Tech for the Enterprise World. I spoke for Anheuser-Busch InBev and the BeerGarage about the sheer impact this disruptive technology will have on business. I shared some thoughts on how the mindset has to change to become truly educated on the topic and embrace the technology for what it is, and to avoid stopping at what detractors say to portray the space.

AB InBev in Blockchain Education Alliance

Mousebelt is a Technology Expertise Center, Accelerator, Fund and Education group active in the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency space. Since January 2020, I established a relationship with them and worked on a number of concepts that could generate pilots at AB InBev. After a number of months and active weekly discussions with the Mousebelt team and their network, I reached an objective that will remain a stepping stone for AB InBev’s in the world of technology and interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
In August 2020, in alignment with my desire to develop a risk-one and disruption-prone mindset in the company and in an effort to actively explore technologies like Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, AB InBev officially joined the Blockchain Education Alliance (BEA). The BEA is a major alliance in the blockchain space that fosters cross-industry collaboration. It combines 100+ partner Universities worldwide that have Blockchain or Crypto societies, leading technology companies in the space such as Stellar, Hedera Hashgraph or Binance_X, and major industry leaders such as Rolls Royce, MasterCard and ING Bank.
The BEA provides an opportunity to explore value-adding use cases for this emerging technology into our business, with Academia and Technology experts. Thanks to the participation of other industry players, I put AB InBev in a position to benchmark how other industry players are positioning themselves in the blockchain space, gauging best practices and learning from success stories or failures. Engagement in such a collaborative setting will teach the company a lot about the technology and how to use it cleverly. It can create opportunities for innovation-driving events, such as themed Hackathons with pools of fresh tech talent, directly from top Universities globally, from which emerging tech solutions can be built. A first big step for ABI into this Tech space.
